What are your gifts?

Gen 4:20-22 "Jabal...the father of those who...raise livestock. Jubal, the father of all who play the harp and flute. Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools."

In the Christian world we often talk about Spiritual Gifts. We even take online tests to find out which ones we have. These are important, dont get me wrong, but what about the "worldly" gifts we possess?

Moses, the writer of Genesis, mentions these men's careers before he mentions whether they have the gift of discernment or of service (and in fact he never does that). God gives all of us certain passions and "worldly" gifts that can and should be used for His Kingdom. I dont believe we're called to abandon our career dreams necessarily, we're just called to use them for God's glory. Too often I see Christians abandon passions that God has given them because they don't fit into our ministry.

Rob Bell has a great sermon series titled "Everything Is Spiritual" (it's very self-explanatory). If we really believed this we could use the gifts we have for spiritual purposes. Amen?

Some of my gifts include: writing (I think.. you can be the judge!), being an amateur web/social media techie, and also ultimate frisbee (I'm not kidding). I firmly believe that those gifts should not be abandoned in the least bit for the mission of Christ, but used to further it!
